Greet Voters on Election Day with Taylor Democrats
Taylor County Democrats
On Election Day, a friendly face outside the polls makes a difference. Greeters offer a card with the Democrats on the ballot to anyone who wants one, and help any neighbor who comes out with a problem find the fix.
Tuesday, November 3rd. Polls are open 7 AM to 7 PM. We're covering the morning and evening rush: 7 to 10 AM and 4 to 7 PM at all five places, and all day at Jerkins. Pick a polling place and a three-hour shift below. Take more than one if you can.
Where we need you
Jerkins Building, 1201 Martin Luther King Ave. (Precinct 13)
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 2975 Pisgah Rd. (Precinct 14)
First United Methodist Church, 302 N. Jefferson St. (Precinct 1)
Boyd Methodist Church, 2458 Boyd Rd. (Precinct 7)
Forest Capital Hall, 203 Forest Park Dr. (Precincts 2 and 9)
What greeters do
Stand outside the 150-foot line the poll workers mark. Never inside it.
Smile, say good morning, and offer a card. Take "no thanks" for an answer, every time.
If a voter comes out with a problem, point them to the voter protection hotline or a ride, and text our chair, Trey Blue.
Never touch, carry, or hold anyone's ballot.
No experience needed. We'll get you the cards and a one-page sheet with everything you need to know, as well as signs for our candidates.
Bring: a folding chair, water, sunscreen or a jacket, and a charged phone. If you have a pop-up canopy, let us know and we can assist setting it up!
