Poll Watchers Thank You & Recruitment!!

Poll Watcher Thank You and Updates   Calling all past, present, and future poll watchers! My name is Joanne Welch, and for those of you who have not met me, I am serving as the Democratic Poll Watcher Lead for Marion County. First, I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to those of you who have committed to poll watch for the upcoming General Election. I am truly grateful you have stepped forward to fill this important role in protecting blue votes in Marion County.    Some of you are receiving this email because you previously listed poll watching as a potential volunteer role. If you have not been in touch with me or Dana Warwick regarding the General Election, please confirm your availability to serve in this role.   Our goal is to have a watchful presence at as many polling places and for as many hours as possible. We need poll watchers for 9 Early Voting and 106 Election Day polling locations. That’s a lot of shifts to cover, and we need your help to recruit additional volunteers. Democratic poll watchers must be registered Democrats in Marion County, and able to sit and observe within the polling place for 2 hours at a time.    Poll watchers play a critical role in helping to ensure election integrity and serve as the frontline against voter suppression. Poll watching is also a great learning opportunity even when all goes smoothly, giving you a chance to observe firsthand how the process normally flows and how any issues are handled by the poll workers. Please share this valuable opportunity with your Democratic family, friends, and neighbors in Marion County, and feel free to share my contact information: [email protected]     Reminder: General Election Early Voting begins on Thursday, October 22nd through Saturday, October 31st, from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd, from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM.  The deadline to sign up to be a poll watcher for the Primary is Monday, October 5th.   The Early Voting locations are listed below for your reference. More information will be forthcoming regarding on-demand training so you can learn when it's convenient for you, and also an opportunity for you to sign up online for locations and shifts.
